STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — This week’s Best Dressed features photos from the nuptials of Staten Islanders Rose Bolella and Salvatore Toscano — a lovely destination wedding in Puerto Rico.
The unforgettable event took place on July 27, 2023, at the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico.
“Seeing our families and friends blending together and having so much fun in Puerto Rico was my favorite part of the wedding,” said the beautiful bride. “What we will remember is how loved we felt, how much fun we had with our loved ones. Our wedding was truly the best night of our lives.”
Rose, the daughter of Christopher and Gladys Bolella of Great Kills, is an alumna of Manhattan College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree, and of the CUNY/College of Staten Island, where she earned her master of social work degree. She is a social worker on the inpatient adolescent unit at a psychiatric hospital.
Sal is the son of Vincent and Linda Toscano, also of Great Kills. He attended the College of Staten Island and currently works as a Local 40 ironworker in New York City.
“Sal and I met through a friend in high school,” Rose shared affectionately. “He was my prom date and during prom weekend he asked me to be his girlfriend.
“He proposed on July 27, 2021, while we were vacationing at our favorite resort in Punta Cana on the sky deck of one of my favorite restaurants at sunset. I had no idea about his proposal and was completely shocked and excited!”
